Meet Matthew

Matthew L. Rice is an appraisal trainee and accounting professional with a foundation in tax preparation, accounting, and real estate valuation. He began his professional career in tax preparation and accounting in 2011 and has since expanded into real estate appraisal, holding a West Virginia trainee license. He earned an Accounting degree from Cecil College in 2025 with a 3.24 GPA and is progressing through the Appraisal Institute’s General Appraiser curriculum, with completion noted for January 2026.

His background combines financial analysis and technical software proficiency with hands-on appraisal field experience. He is QuickBooks certified and experienced with tax and accounting platforms including OLT, Drake, QuickBooks, and Quicken, along with the Microsoft Office suite. He has accumulated more than 1,500 hours of appraisal experience under Russel Rice, MAI, demonstrating practical exposure to real estate valuation assignments and professional appraisal workflows.

Matthew also maintains active professional development through student affiliations with the Appraisal Institute, the American Society of Appraisers, and the AICPA, reflecting a strong commitment to growth in both appraisal and financial disciplines.
